Awarded
First Prize at the 9th Banff International String Quartet Competition in
2007 and the Grand Prize at the Australian Chamber Music Competition in 2005,
the TinAlley String Quartet (TASQ) has established itself as one of Australia’s
brightest chamber music ensembles. The quartet has studied at the Banff Centre
for the Arts, Canada; International Musicians Seminar, Prussia Cove, United
Kingdom; Norfolk Chamber Music Festival as part of the Yale Summer School
of Music; St. Lawrence String Quartet Chamber Music Seminar at Stanford University
and in 2006 was based at the Australian National Academy of Music as “Visiting
Young Artists.”
TASQ has
been mentored by many of the world’s
finest quartets, including the Tokyo, St. Lawrence and Keller String Quartets
and has worked closely with many of Australia and Europe’s finest musicians.
TASQ has appeared in the Australian National Academy of Music Virtuosi Series;
Sydney House Music Series; Melbourne International Arts Festival; Macedon
Music Series; Musica Viva Coffee Concert Series; Musica Viva Countrywide
Program, Port Fairy Music Festival; Elder Hall Lunchtime Recital Series;
and in regional centers in Victoria and NSW.
The TinAlley
String Quartet is currently Quartet in Residence at Trinity College, The
University of Melbourne, and its recital series are generously sponsored
by Kozminsky. |
